Murdoch, Lillian L. Wonders – 1877-1928

Mrs. Lillian Murdoch, daughter of Thomas and Ruth Wonders, died at her home on 614 W. 2nd St. South, Friday morning at 2:30 o’clock Feb. 10. She was born at Avery, Iowa on Feb. 5, 1877 and died at the age of 51 years, and 5 days.
She was united in marriage to James Murdoch, Oct. 2, 1913 at Newton, where she has resided ever since. Mrs. Murdoch had long been a patient sufferer of heart trouble and complications being practically confined to her bed for the last 3 years during which time she had been faithfully attended by her husband and other relatives.
Mrs. Murdoch is survived by her husband, James Murdoch, of Newton, and one son, Roy Cole, by a former marriage. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Thomas, Will and James all of Newton and 3 sisters, Mrs. Violet Hughes of Boone, Mrs. Bessie Hickman of Farmington, Wash., and Mrs. Grace Wayne and Carl.
Relatives and friends attending the services from a distance were: Ed Aspengreen, wife and two children of Boone; George, Tom and Leslie Ward and their wives, Glen Ward, Mrs. Abram, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Cox, all of Des Moines and Albert Cole and wife of Colfax.
