Girl Killed
Jeanette DeGroot, 14, Prairie City high school freshman, was killed yesterday afternoon when struck by a car on highway 163 east of Des Moines.
Alighting from a car driven by Mrs. Ray Barrett of Mitchellville, Ia., the farm girl was struck by an auto driven by Merle Goble of Des Moines.
She was rushed to a doctor’s office, but she died in about an hour without regaining consciousness.
