Mrs. Elmer Brafford’s At Prairie City
Funeral services for Mrs. Elmer Brafford were held at Prairie City from the Walters funeral home April 18, at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. C. Max Buck, of the Christian church preaching the sermon. Burial was made in the Griffis cemetery south west of Prairie City.
Elda Spriggs, youngest daughter of Robert and Celestial Spriggs, now deceased, was born in Jasper county, Iowa, south of Prairie City, May 8, 1874.
October 1, 1918, she was stricken with epilepsy, from which she never recovered, and on April 17, 1931, passed away, aged fifty-six years, eleven months and nine days.
On October 6, 1897, she was united in marriage to Elmer Brafford. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Clara Fifer, of Prairie City and Everett Brafford. She leaves her husband, two children, two brothers, John and Henry Spriggs of Prairie City, and two sisters, Mrs. Addie De Moss of Des Moines and Mrs. Sarah Shoafstall of Spokane, Washington.
