Runnells – Marie Rodda Bos, 88, of Runnells, a lifelong resident of the Runnells and Prairie City areas, died Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.
The Rev. Rene Paddock of Des Moines and the Rev. Kenneth Wallace of Grinnell will conduct services. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home and family visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Runnells Volunteer Fire Department or the Woodland Community Church at Runnells may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are four sons, Jayell of Altoona, Doyle and Leon, both of Runnells, and Kenneth of Colfax; three daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Mervin) Smith, Mercidese (Mrs. Ralph) Lane and Gladys (Mrs. Harold) McConnell, all of Runnells; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving are a brother, John Rodda of Adel and two sisters, Goldie Hammer of Carlisle and Lulu Bos of Prairie City.
Mrs. Bos was a member of the Woodland Community Church in Runnells.
The daughter of George and Elizabeth Wilson Rodda, she was born July 30, 1903 at Swan.
She was married to Henry John Bos Nov. 9, 1922 at Newton.
