Dorothy A. Heaverlo, 82, of Careage of Newton died Wednesday evening, Dec. 11, at Skiff Medical Center.
Graveside rites will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.
Elder Robert Gardner of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will conduct services.
Friends may call at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 8 a.m. Saturday. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
Survivors are two sons, Glenn J. Woody and Verland J. Beckham, both of Newton; a daughter, Mildred Woody Slycord of Newton; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Granquist, three sisters, Nettie Cary, Mary “Bee” Kennedy and Kathryn Wearmouth, and a daughter, Shirley Dop.
Mrs. Heaverlo was a homemaker.
The daughter of Herman C. and Mary Ellen McNeely Granquist, she was born Feb. 7, 1909 in Colfax and attended Colfax Community Schools.
