Tigard, Ore. – Funeral services for Alta Eleanor Borts Aust, 70, of Tigard, Ore., a former resident of Mingo, were held Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Young’s Funeral Home in Tigard.
Memorials to the National Orthopedics Society may be sent to the funeral home.
Mrs. Aust died Friday at her home.
Survivors are two daughters, Melody Tennefoss of Forest Grove, Ore., and Chery Wells of LaGrande, Ore.; a granddaughter and two brothers, Merle Borts of Des Moines and Forest Borts of Mingo.
She was preceded in death by a brother in 1989 and a sister in 1975.
Mrs. Aust was a secretary for the U.S. Corps of Engineers for 23 years, retiring in 1986.
She was an American Cancer Society volunteer, a member of the Tigard Senior Center and was a tour guide for Let’s Go Travel in Tigard.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and assisting others.
She was born Oct. 1, 1921 in Mingo and was a 1940 graduate of Mingo Community High School.
She moved to Tigard, Ore., from Tacoma, Wash., in 1985.
