Maree Corleone Haines Davis, 94, of 510 E. 9th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1930, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 29, at the home of her daughter.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials to the Jasper County Society’s Loan Closet may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors are three daughters, Bessie Clemens, Doris (Mrs. Kenneth) Trotter and Alice (Mrs. Raymond) Bunker, all of Newton; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorotha Cross of Newton, Vivian Stickler of Centerville and Eleanor Carter of Moline, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry, in 1958, a son, Billy E., in 1973, two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker.
The daughter of Doctor C. and Gitta K. Haines Haines, she was born Oct. 28, 1897 in Mystic and attended rural Mystic schools.
She was married to Henry E. Davis April 23, 1916 in Mystic.
