Funeral services for Richard “Dick” L. Gulling, 61, of 609 S. 6th Ave. W., a lifelong resident of Newton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. Bill Adams, associate pastor of the Community Heights Alliance Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
Memorials to a fund in his name will be accepted.
He died Monday at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Survivors are his wife, Donna; four sons, Doug, Dennis, David and Darin, all of Newton; a daughter, Debbie Braaksma of Newton; six grandchildren; his mother, Evelyn Vessils of Des Moines; two sisters, Mary Kalapeck of Toledo and Carrol Kimry of Des Moines; and a brother, Robert of Colfax.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter, an infant son and a granddaughter.
Mr. Gulling, a member of the Moose Lodge 923, was employed as a supervisor in the die cast department at the Maytag Co. for 42 years prior to retiring June 30, 1989.
He was born May 14, 1930 in Runnells and attended Colfax schools.
