Geraldine Snook Dies on Tuesday; Rites Saturday
Mrs. Clyde (Geraldine) Snook, 60, of Rt. 3, Newton, a resident of Newton since 1938, died Tuesday afternoon at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Reese Chapel.
Father Joseph Denning, pastor of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Heart Fund will be accepted.
Friends may call at the Reese Chapel after 7 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Jacquelyn) Beard and Mrs. Dwight (Kathleen) Van Roekel, both of Newton, and Mrs. Larry (Karen) Cope of Kellogg; nine grandchildren; her mother, Irene Wood of Carmen, Okla.; a step-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Ward and Mrs. Clarence Ward, both of Carmen, Okla.; and a brother, Charles Thatcher of Carmen, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Snook was a member of the Women of the Moose.
The daughter of Warren and Irene Goss Thatcher, she was born Oct. 19, 1919 and was a graduate of Newton Community High School.
She was married Sept. 10, 1938 in Newton.
Mrs. Snook also had resided in Indiana.
