Monroe – Edith Williams, 84, a native and longtime resident of Monroe, died Saturday, Dec. 14, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.
The Rev. Jerry McGee, pastor of the Monroe United Methodist Church, will conduct services.
Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivor is a brother Wayne Williams of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Grace Garland.
Miss Williams clerked in Monroe stores and at the Ben Franklin Store in Knoxville for many years.
The daughter of Le Roy and Anna Nimmo Williams, she was born Feb. 16, 1907 in Monroe and was a 1924 graduate of Monroe High School.
With the exception of a few years in Knoxville, she resided her entire life in Monroe.
