Monroe – Clell F. Morrison, 59, a resident of Monroe since 1968 and former resident of Newton, died Monday, Dec. 9, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe.
The Rev. Jerry McGee, pastor of the Monroe United Methodist Church will conduct services.
Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Lanelle; two sons, Larry of Des Moines and Ronald of Newton; four daughters, Connie (Mrs. Doug) Van Vark of Leighton, Dianna Morrison of Marshalltown, Brenda (Mrs. William) Moore of Oskaloosa and Pamela (Mrs. Jeff) Wielard of Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are his father, Farris Morrison of Newton; a brother, Eugene of Colfax; and two sisters, Shirley Hoen and Mary Stone, both of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Freddie.
A member of the United Auto Workers, Local 997, he was an employee of the Maytag Co. in Newton from 1956 until 1986.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
The son of Farris and Edith Wright Morrison, he was born Jan. 6, 1932 in Melcher.
He was married to Lanelle Schaffer in Bauer in 1956.
