Carl Couch Died Saturday After Long Illness
Well Known Farmer Of Goddard Neighborhood; Funeral Held Tuesday
Carl Couch, 60, died Saturday at the hospital at Independence, Iowa, where he had been a patient for several years.
Carl Couch, son of Dan and Margaret Couch, was born November 18, 1885 and passed away February 2, 1946 at the age of 60 years, 2 months and 15 days.
He lived most of his life on a farm in the Goddard neighborhood and was a charter member of the Sand Hill Grange.
In the spring of 1937 he moved to Hardin county. He had been in poor health for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and one sister, Clara Couch, and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Jim Rhone, her husband and two sons, Myron and Keith of Ira, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Colfax with the Rev. Paul K. Potter, pastor of the church officiating.
Music was provided by Mrs. Earl Plummer with Mrs. George Rinker accompanist.
Pallbearers were Vessie Rhone, Arthur Rose, James Leonard Sr., Earl Pink, Walter Beals and Harry Selbhers.
Interment was in the McKeever cemetery.
