C. C. Planalp, 66, Mingo Resident, Dies at Hospital
Mingo – Clarence C. Planalp, 66, of Mingo, a longtime resident of the Ira and Mingo communities, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Skiff Memorial hospital in Newton.
Mr. Planalp had been in failing health for the past four years and hospitalized for the past four weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Mingo Methodist church.
The Rev. Max Hall, minister of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery near Ira.
Boyd-Nickell funeral home at Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Planalp is survived by his wife; a son, Merle, of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a child.
Mr. Planalp was a member of the Ira Methodist church. He was also a charter member of the Ira Grange.
The son of Peter and Nellie Planalp, he was born September 6, 1894, at Alta.
As a child he moved with his family to Mingo and later to Ira where he attended school.
He was married to Lois Baldwin January 1, 1926.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Planalp resided on farms near Ira and Mingo before retiring in 1958 and moving to Mingo.
