Thomas Dawson Dies Wednesday
Baxter – Thomas Lloyd Dawson, 71, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his farm home west of Baxter after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Boyd-Nickell funeral home at Baxter will be in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dawson is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Francis (Opal) Hill of Colfax; Mrs. Louis (Marjorie) Schroyer of Baxter and Mrs. Ralph (Caroline) Maxwell of Mingo; two sons, Glen of San Andreas, Calif., and lee of Alta Ville, Calif.; a brother, R. M. Dawson of Belle Garden, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Rhoda Bell of Medford, Ore.; and eight grandchildren.
He was a member of the Christian church at Ira.
Mr. Dawson was born September 17, 1889.

Thomas Dawson Services Sunday
Baxter – Funeral services for Thomas Lloyd Dawson, 71, longtime resident of northwest Jasper county, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ira Christian church.
The Rev. T. A. Thompson, minister of the Baxter Congregational Christian church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Ira Christian church will be accepted.
Boyd-Nickell funeral home at Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dawson is survived by his wife; three daughters, two sons, a brother, sister and 10 grandchildren.
He was a member of the Ira Christian church and was a deacon in the church for many years. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau.
The son of Robert and Mary Dawson, he was born September 17, 1889 at Rhodes, Moving with his family to Story County at an early age.
He was married to Hazel Couch September 14, 1910 in Newton and resided in Newton for a year before moving to a farm near Ira.

Mrs. Rhoda Bell of Medford, Ore., arrived Saturday, called by the death of her brother, Tommy Dawson at Baxter. Funeral services for Mr. Dawson were held Sunday at Union Chapel. Mrs. Bell, a former resident of Colfax and Greencastle, will remain for a time to visit relatives and friends in this area.
