Coral Castor, 74, Lifelong Ira Resident, Dies
Ira – Mrs. Gilman (Coral) Castor, 74, a lifelong resident of Ira, died Friday noon at the home of Mrs. Denver Cross in Baxter.
Mrs. Castor, in failing health for the past seven years, recently had spent three weeks in the Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ira Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery near Ira.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home at Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Castor is survived by her husband; a son, John, of Ira, and two sisters, Mrs. Warren (Fern) Zenor of Ames and Mrs. George (Aura) Bass of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and four sisters.
The daughter of James and Rebecca Cross, she was born Dec. 8, 1890 in Ira and educated in rural schools.
She was married to Gilman Castor Jan. 15, 1910 in Newton.
