Andrew Trusler Of Ira Died Thursday
Was Pioneer Farmer of Jasper County And Prominent Citizen
Andrew Trusler, 83, of Ira, passed away Thursday afternoon at his home, as the result of a stroke.
Mr. Trusler was a pioneer farmer of Jasper county and one of the prominent citizens, and did much for the betterment of the community.
Mr. Trusler was born April 30, 1850, in Guernsey county, Ohio, and was the last surviving member of a family of five children. He had resided in Jasper county since March, 1865, when he moved here from Scott county, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Mary Shockley and to this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive. One son, William Trusler, preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
Surviving relatives include his widow; six daughters, Mrs. S. W. Weston, Mrs. Celia Iske, Mrs. Frank Rippey and Mrs. Carl Weston of Ira, Mrs. Floyd Berry of Baxter, and Mrs. Eddie Powleski of Mingo, and one son, Elmer Trusler, of Ira.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Episcopal church in Ira by the pastor, the Rev. Simmons. Interment was had in the Union Chapel cemetery.
