E. R Godfrey died at his residence in Ira, May 1, 1888. Several years ago Mr. Godfrey was caught by falling slate while laying track in the coal mine and since that time he has suffered from the injuries then received, and which finally caused his death. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Anderson, and the remains were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of his neighbors and friends.
