Mrs. Eli Cross died Tuesday evening, Oct. 5, 1894, at her home in Baxter, Iowa; aged about 56 years, after a ten days illness with typhoid fever. A husband and five children survive her. The funeral was from the M.E. church in Ira last Sunday, the discourse was preached by Rev. Lampman, and the interment was at Union Chapel.
Mrs. Cross was a devout member of the Methodist church and had lived in Ira neighborhood for twelve years past. Her funeral was largely attended by her old friends and neighbors, all of whom had learned to respect and love her for her many noble traits.
