Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Ira Methodist church for J. S. Castor who died Tuesday, March 14, at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, of an operation followed by pneumonia. Mrs. Arthur Dodd and Rev. David E Arnold of Baxter sang “Sweet Beulah Land,” “Shall We Gather At the River” and “In the Sweet By and By,” with Mrs. David E. Arnold accompanying them on the piano. Rev Arnold had charge of the services.
Pallbearers were Gillman Castor, Seward Castor, Clifford Cross, Denver M. Cross, Loren Murphy and Orlo Southern. Mrs. Loren Murphy and Mrs. J. H. Boyd were in charge of the floral arrangements.
Interment was in the Union Chapel cemetery west of Ira.
