Services Held For Lou Thomasson Wednesday
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Monroe Methodist Church for Lou Thomasson, 53, who died Sunday afternoon from a self-inflicted gun wound.
Services were in charge of Rev. George Pennington and Slayden Post No. 363 of the American Legion.
Music was furnished by Mr. Cornie Huigen, Gwen Bump and Jane Le Grand.
Pallbearers were Jim Pendroy, Charles Sloan, Earl Simbro, Carroll Munger, Frank Martin and Ralph Hoagland.
Interment was in the Monroe cemetery.
Obituary
Mr. Lewis M. Thomasson, 53 years of age, died at this home in Monroe, Iowa, last Sunday, January 2, 1949.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomasson of Monroe. He was born on May 16, 1895 at Fairmont. He has always lived in and around Monroe. He has been employed by the State Highway Maintenance Commission since his marriage to Alice Garrett on June 12, 1929. To this union one daughter was born.
Those left to mourn his death are his mother, daughter Alice Lou, eight brothers and three sisters. James, Charles, George, Clifford, Clyde, John and Delbert, all of Monroe, Loren of Knoxville, Mrs. Jennie Schermerhorn of Newton, Mrs. Merle Whitted of Fairplay, Colorado and Mrs. Jessie Banks of Monroe and a host of friends.
