Hans Thompson Dies
Hans Thompson, well known farmer of Mound Prairie township passed away Friday, Nov. 2nd, 1928 at the hospital at Iowa city where he has been at different times the past year, receiving treatment for dropsy and heart trouble.
Mr. Thompson was born in Denmark 56 years ago and came to this country when he was twenty years of age. He located first at Council Bluffs, coming from there to Jasper county where he has lived the past twenty years. Before his marriage he assisted George Woods, the banker and later ran a delivery truck for the Ed Bollhoefer store in Colfax. After his marriage they moved to the farm and have lived there since.
He leaves his wife and a family of five children, one daughter, Mrs. Chas. Lester of the Ira neighborhood and four sons who are at home assisting with the management of the farm.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Cutter-Hartnett funeral Home with Rev. Blanke, pastor of the Lutheran church of Newton officiating, he being a member of this congregation. The music was furnished by two women from the same church. Interment was had at the Rorabaugh cemetery east of Colfax.
