Al. Jeffries’ little son – I failed to get his name – is prostrated with rheumatism and under Dr. Hawk’s care; and there are unsubstantiated rumors that diphtheria has again appeared. The only cases I have been able to find were in the family of William Southern, and he lives between Mingo and Valeria. Two cases there are convalescent. They lost their baby with the dread disease on Monday or Tuesday.
