Ruth Sullivan, age 56 of Reasnor, died Saturday, February 19, 2005 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Cremation will take place following the service.

Visitation for Ruth will be held on Monday, February 21, 2005 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The daughter of Rex P. & Dora Mae (Johnson) Woody, Ruth was born on August 7, 1948 in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1966. A lifelong resident of the area, Ruth enjoyed her family and friends as well as fishing, camping and mushroom hunting. On June 15, 1991, she was united in marriage to Michael Sullivan.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Michael of Reasnor; two sons, Thad and Todd Nearmyer both of Monroe; two grandchildren, Tatum and Turner; four sisters, Marilyn Deppe and her husband Larry of Kellogg, Pat Farland and her husband Dennis of Newton, Jane Patterson and her husband Mike of Kellogg and Sally Hotchkin and her husband Van also of Kellogg; two brothers, Tim Woody of Grinnell and Joel Woody of Kellogg as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her parents and a brother, Tommy preceded her in death.
