KILLDUFF -- Marion W. Septer, 76, of rural Killduff died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Duane E. Skidmore of Killduff United Methodist Church officiating. A private family burial will be held at Sully Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Killduff United Methodist Church or American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.

The son of Richard and Christina (Bennink) Septer, he was born Nov. 7, 1928, in rural Lynnville. He attended Jasper County schools. On Dec. 29, 1949, he married Geraldine Otten in Killduff. He lived on a farm near Killduff since 1938 and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed farming and fishing and was a member of Killduff United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Nancy and Merlin Terlouw of Reasnor, Mary and Melvin Ranfeld of Deep River, Carolyn and Gerald Kramer of Pella and Cheryl Septer of Sully; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
