Charles Logsdon, 78, Ira Resident, Dies at Hospital
Ira (Special) – Charles Smith Logsdon, 78, resident of the Ira community for many years, died at 7:30 a.m. today at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines. Mr. Logsdon suffered a stroke Jan. 29 and had been hospitalized for two weeks.
Funeral services have been arranged tentatively for 2 p.m. Monday at the Baxter Congregational Christian church. Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Vera Perin of Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Lawrence (Vella) Helsene of Mingo, Mrs. Henry (Irene) Helsene of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Joe (Helen) Bosak of Fredrick, Wis., Mrs. Norman (Hazel) Critterden of Galesburg, Minn., Mrs. Charles (Delores) Robinson of Mingo and Mrs. Merle (Doris) Borts of Mingo; a son, Frank Logsdon of Van Wert; two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Sissell of Oelwein and Mrs. Maude Kinzle of Eugene, Ore., 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Logsdon was born in Kentucky July 27, 1875. He was married July, 1894, in Rhodes to Rose Marie Sego. He farmed in the Ira community for many years prior to his retirement.

Logsdon Funeral At Baxter Today
Baxter (Special) – Funeral rites for Charles S. Logsdon, 78, Ira resident who died Saturday in Des Moines, were held at 2 p.m. today in the Congregational Christian church at Baxter.
The Rev. Ralph Erts officiated at the rites, assisted by the Rev. Harry Boughey. Burial was in Restland cemetery, and Boyd-Nickell funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.
Soloist was Mrs. John Cleverley, and organist was Mrs. Donnell Deutsch. In charge of flowers were Mrs. Charles Butler and Mrs. Hale Nickell.
Pallbearers were Charles Butler, Charles Koon, Orlo Southern, Joe Leonard, Paul Rumbaugh and Lloyd Thomas.
