Wm. Jenkins Dies, Funeral at Colfax
Colfax – William E. Jenkins, 70, died yesterday at Indianola. He had been a resident of Colfax for 51 years and was a former coal miner.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Syracuse, Ohio on Jan. 7, 1880 to Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Jenkins. He attended high school in Colfax.
Survivors are his widow, the former Ethel Wilson, of Colfax, two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Eckles of Indianola and Mrs. Henry Hawkins of Prairie City; and two brothers, Ted Jenkins of Adel and Dan Jenkins of Newton.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at three o’clock at the Bumgardner Funeral Home in Colfax, with Rev. Floyd Shepard officiating. Burial will be in the Colfax Cemetery.
