Ayers, Gilvin A.

Pomona, Calf—Gilvin A. Ayers, 74, of 2345 South San Antonio, Pomona, Calf., a former resident of Newton, died Sunday morning, May 14, at Pomona.

Funeral services will be held in California.

Memorial Contributions to the cancer Society may be sent to his home.

Survivors are his wife, Awanda; a son, Gilvin A. Jr. of Pomona; a daughter Ina Mae Collins of Pomona; five grandchildren; a sister Ola (Mrs. George) Kelly of Lee’s Summit. Mo.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Martin, Mrs. Tom Owens and Mrs. Le Roy Borts, all of Colfax; and a niece, Arlene Townsend of Newton.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, a brother, Harvey, two sisters, Iva Henderson Fettether and Florence Phalen.

Mr. Ayers, a member and past president of the Numismatic Society of California and a member of a number of other coin collecting organizations, had been an electrician at Lockheed Aircraft Co.

The son of Warren P. and Flora Morrison Ayers, he was born Jan. 19,1915 in Rich Hill, Mo.

He was married to Awanda Peper in August 1937, in Newton.
