Katherine Moore Arb, 84, of Nelson Manor Nursing home, a resident of Newton since 1987, died Wednesday evening, July 12, at the manor.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Farnam Chapel of John A. Gentleman funeral homes in Omaha, Neb. Burial will be in Forset Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Rosary will be recited Friday evening at the funeral home in Omaha. Wallace-Pence funeral home is handling Newton arrangements.

Memorials to a fund in her name may be left in Newton funeral home.

Survivors are a stepson Alfred L. Blackett of Newton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Eugene in August 1971.

Mrs. Arb who had been employed as a secretary, was a member of the Daughters of Colonial Wars, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a charter member of the Omaha, Neb., and Nebraska State Rose Societies and the South Omaha Horticultural Society.

The daughter of Alfred David and Mary E. Byrne Moore, she was born March 26, 1905 in Chicago, Ill., and was graduated from Chicago, Ill., high school.

She was married to Eugene O. Arb, December 28,1946.

Mrs. Arb had moved from Chicago to Omaha in 1946.
