Obituary: William L. Moore

Funeral services for William L. "Bill" Moore, 64 of 915 W. 4th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1944, were held today, Nov 13, at the Foursquare Church. The Rev. James Black, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Joseph Babcock, pastor emeritus, conducted services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery. Visitation with the family was held Sunday at Wallace-Pence Fun earl Home. Memorial contributions to a fund in his name may be left at the funeral home. He died Friday at his home following a heart attack.

Survivors are his wife, Della; a son, Don of Newton; a daughter, Maxine Moore of Newton; two grandchildren; and a brother Marvin Moore of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Mr. Moore, a member of the Foursquare Church, had worked in maintenance at the Maytag Co. until retiring May 31, 1976. The son of Homer and Sarah Beason Moore, he was born Aug. 17, 1925 in Montezuma and attendedLaurel schools. He was married to Della Walker April 23, 1944 in Newton. ~ Newton Daily News, Nov 10, 1989
