RHODES—Howard Allspach, 54, of Rhodes, a lifelong resident of the Baxter and Rhodes communities, died Sunday, Jan. 1, at the Iowa Methodist Care Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bethany United Church of Christ, east of Baxter.

The Rev. Jerry Stevenson, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Boyd-Davis Funeral Home in Baxter.

Memorial contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are four daughters, Sandra Van Draska of Baxter, Rae Jean Borneman of Monroe, Donna Rogers of Rhodes, and Beverly Allspach of Newton; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Also surviving are four brothers, Donald, Marvin, and Ralph, all of Newton, and Larry of Bevier, Mo.; a sister Marjorie Vansice of Baxter and his mother, Zeta Allspach of Baxter.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Allspach was a member of the Bethany United Church of Christ.

The son of Henry and Zeta Stier Allspach, he was born July 12, 1934 in Marshall County.

He was married to Frances Holmes Sept. 19, 1952 at Newton.
