GRINNELL—Memorial services for William C. “Bill” Adams, 70, of Grinnell, a resident of Lynnville from 1951 to 1959, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The Rev. Arthur Schlief of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will conduct services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sigourney.

He died of heart failure Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Humana Hospital in Dade City, Fla., where he was spending the winter.

Cremation followed death.

Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services.

Survivors are his wife, AlleJeanece; two sons, William R. of DeWitt and Gary L. of Prophetstown, Ill.; a daughter Flora Mae Howland of Greenfield, Ohio; a step-son, Gael Doane of Grinnell; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John and Russell of Baltimore, Md.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, two brothers and a grandson.

Mr. Adams, a member of the Newton Seventh Day Adventist Church, as a young man had worked as a golf caddy; had been a guard at Fort Meade while residing in Baltimore, Md., and had been employed at the Maytag Co. from 1952 until retiring in 1978.

He was born Sept. 18, 1918 in Akron, Ohio and attended school in Akron.

He was married to AlleJeanece Iosbaker Oct. 26, 1946 in Severna Park, Md.

Mr. Adams also had resided in Sigourney from 1949 to 1951.
