Judith M. Riley, 65, of Newton died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A Celebration of Life service will held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Cathleen Chittenden-Bascom, pastor of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church officiating. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The daughter of Dale LeRoy and Genevieve Lucille VanGilst Vaught, she was born May 13, 1939 in Newton. A lifelong resident of Newton, she was a graduate of Newton Senior High School and was employed by the Maytag Company for more than 23 years retiring on May 31, 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Newton Moose Lodge.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Denny Snodgrass of Sully, Kimberly and Brian Hood of Mitchellville, Debra and Mark Moioffer of Balsam Lake, Wis.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Becky Lanser of Cary, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Larry Vaught of Omaha, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
