Paul Rathke, 91, of Peoria, Ariz., formerly of Newton, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, in Peoria, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held in Peoria, Ariz. Condolences may be sent to his wife Evalyn Rathke at the Good Shepherd Retirement Center, Apt. 130, 10333 West Olive Ave., Peoria, Ariz. 85345.

He was born July 19, 1913, in Minnesota to a family of 13 children. His father was a Lutheran minister and they lived in many areas. He began working for The Vernon Company in 1950 as a general salesperson. In 1971, he was promoted to general sales manager in the home office. They resided in Newton until 1979, when they moved to Peoria, Ariz., where he became district manager for the state for the next three years. In 1983, he went back to working as a general salesperson.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Evalyn; a son, Philip; six grandsons; and two step-daughters; and many great-grandchildren, relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and a son, Bruce.
