PELLA — Julious Max Quillin, 94, of Pella, formerly of Newton, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Pella Regional Hospital.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Union Mill Cemetery in New Sharon with the Rev. Sheldon Starkenberg officiating.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Wednesday at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

The son of Julious Ceaser and Claudia (Heil) Quillin, he was born Jan. 17, 1911, in rural Mahaska County. He farmed most of his life in the New Sharon, Newton and Oskaloosa areas. In February 1936, he married Nona McMains. Following her death, he married Eva Kruse on Jan. 24, 1980. He was a member of the Beacon Church and attended the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ruth Quillin of New Sharon, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; a brother, Howard Quillin; a sister Erma Beatty; and an infant sister.
