Nellie M. Pugh, 95, of Newton died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at USA Healthcare — Newton.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Newton with the Rev. Jeff Arp officiating. Burial will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Women's Missionary of the First Assembly of God Church and may be left at the funeral home or at the church the morning of the service.

The daughter of William N. and Jessie O. (Corum) Browning, she was born Sept. 6, 1909, in Lucas County. On Dec. 24, 1926, she married Bud Pugh in Chase County, Neb. She was a homemaker, worked as a nurse's aid and also did house cleaning.

Mrs. Pugh was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and past president of the Women's Missionary. She enjoyed quilting. She made quilts for her family and for the missions. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and sewing. She was a resident of Newton since 1955.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Doris Pugh of Springville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Belva and Bill Fogwell of Williamsburg, Betty and Donald Rogan of Bella Vista, Ark., and Naomi and Norman Emmack of Omaha, Neb.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Hale of Fort Morgan, Colo., and Vivian and Robert Schultz of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and a sister.
