Eleanor Marie Pinick, 83, of 1309 S. 13th Ave. E. died Sunday, May 8, 2005, at Careage of Newton.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Newton Union Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Bryant officiating. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Visitation is planned Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name.

The daughter of Joseph and Bessie (Holzbog) Crook, she was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Jasper County. She graduated from Newton Senior High School. On Oct. 26, 1974, she married Wallace F. "Wally" Pinick in Des Moines. She worked for the Maytag Company for 25 years in the assembly department. She was a member of UAW Retirees Union 997. She enjoyed bowling, the outdoors and fishing with her husband.

Survivors include a son, William Taylor of Los Angeles, Calif., and a sister, Ada Grasse of Glendale, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five brothers.
