Marjorie Phifer, age 90 of Monroe, died Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funerals services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Monroe. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Phifer will be held on Thursday, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 800 p.m. Memorials may be given to the church or the Monroe Emergency Unit.

The daughter of John Cochran and Jennie Louisa (Sellers) Waddle, Marjorie was born on October 6, 1914 in Marion County. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1931. On October 22, 1938 she was united in marriage to Dale Phifer in Milan, Missouri. Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Monroe working at Simpson Produce and also at the school for many years. She was also active at the First Baptist Church where she was a longtime member.

Surviving are her four daughters, Delores and Harlan Marshall, Betty and Harold Beyer and Eula Rawls all of Monroe and Joyce Cline of Des Moines, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Proceeding, Marjorie in death was her parents, Husband in 1974, two sons, Daryl in infancy and Johnny as well as a brother Ralph Waddle.
