PORT ROYAL, S.C. — LeRoy C. Orr, 76, of Port Royal, S.C., formerly of Mingo and Newton, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savanna, Ga.
Funeral services were held today at the Anderson Funeral Home in Beaufort, S.C. Burial will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. Anderson Funeral Home in Beaufort, S.C., and Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton are handling arrangements.

The son of Clarence and Ebby (Deaton) Orr, he was born June 29, 1928, in Mingo. He worked for the Maytag Company for 30 years and retired as an inspector in the factory. He was a member of UAW Local 997 Retirees Union and was an avid and accomplished bowler and was a major league baseball fan. He lived in the Mingo and Newton areas until moving to Port Royal, S.C., in 1986.

He is survived by a son, Dwight W. Orr of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Linda (Orr) Dupriest of Beaufort, S.C., and Karla Baxter of Beaufort, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.
