Larry Manning Morgan, 63, of 511 W. 14th St. N. died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with Jonathan Kingery officiating. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday, where the family will be available from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted in his name.

The son of Thomas James and Lorena (Hunt) Morgan, he was born April 28, 1941, in Albia. He attended Albia Schools. On May 25, 1973, he married Debbie Ida Dooley in Colfax. He worked in the dryer assembly department for the Maytag Company and retired in 1992. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He lived in Colfax, Reasnor and moved to Newton in 1984.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tammy Morgan of Newton; one grandson; two sisters, Marilyn Lathan of Albia and Phillis Connor and her friend Ray of Albia; and a brother and sister-in-law, Lyle and Kae Morgan of Lovilia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Chidster.
