KELLOGG — Donna Joann "Grandma" Mathews, 74, of Kellogg died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A private family burial will be held at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe at a later date. Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.
Memorials in her name may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Everett Harly and Ruth Irene (Wood) Armstrong, she was born April 16, 1930, in Monroe. She graduated from Monroe High School. In 1972 she marreid Joe Mathews in Huntsville, Texas. She was a nurse and homemaker. She enjoyed making and donating lap robes to the VA and toys for the kids.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis Desplanque of Kellogg, Walt and Judy Desplanque of Newton, Mike and Kathy Desplanque of Bussey and Bill Desplanque of Newton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Steve McDonald of Knoxville and Jody and Steve McCombs of Tracy; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and three brothers.
