Kellogg - Harry E. Buchmeier, 83, of Friendship Manor in Grinnell, a former Kellogg resident and former longtime Kellogg area farmer, died Sunday afternoon at the Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kellogg.

The Rev. Keith Briggs of Grinnell will conduct services. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Survivors are a nephew, Carl Buchmeier of Rt. 2, Kellogg; and five nieces, including Mrs. Olen (Joyce) Lambert of Newton and Mrs. Dennis (Lena) Clapper of Baxter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice, Feb. 9, 1979; a brother, William, in 1960; and two sisters and a brother in infancy.

Mr. Buchmeier, a World War I Veteran, was a member of the Kellogg Legion, had been a member of the Kellogg Elevator board of directors, was a member of the Kellogg Senior Citizens and was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kellogg for which he had served in Many church offices.

The son of Herman and Magdalene Buchmeier, he was born April 9, 1896 near Kellogg, was a 1913 graduate of Kellogg Community High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls.

He was married to Bernice
