Browne Funeral Services Held
March 7, 1928

Funeral services for Mrs. V. B. Browne, who died at her home in Fort Morgan, Colo., Wednesday evening, were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Morgan Funeral home and burial was in the Center Friends cemetery. The Rev. Hoskins, pastor of the Center Friends Church, had charge of the rites.

Pallbearers were Russell Foster, Albert Anderson, Walter Clauson, Proctor Stepp, Bates Stepp and Elmer Starrett. Music was furnished by Mrs. Fred Reeve and Mrs. Myrtle Burr. The selections were "There Is No Night There" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."

Leah Mae Eaton, daughter of T. D. and Ida M. Eaton, was born Sept. 15, 1901 near Newton and died March 7, at Fort Morgan, Colo., at the age of 26 years, five months and 22 days. She died following an illness of several months. She spent practically all of her life in Jasper County. She attended the Kellogg high school and later graduated from the Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines. Mrs. Browne was a member of the Kellogg Order of Eastern Stars.

She was the victim of pulmonary trouble and last June she went to Colorado hoping the change would bring back her health. While in Denver she was united in marriage to Virgil B. Browne and later they moved to Fort Morgan, Colo., where they were at the time of her death.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil B. Browne, her parents Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Eaton, two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Altemeier, of Melbourne, and Mrs. Beulah Bark of near Newton and two brothers, Leslie T. Eaton of Ottumwa and Don G. Eaton of Newton. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
