Linda K. Lake, 63, of 613 E. Fourth Street died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton is handling arrangements.

Memorials will be accepted in her name, to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society or Hospice of Jasper County.

The daughter of Robert T. Jarnagin and Aldean (Worth) Jarnagin-Carter, she was born March 24, 1941, in Newton. She graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids and attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids for two years. On Nov. 16, 1963, she married Jack Lake in Cedar Rapids. She worked in food service at Park Centre in Newton and retired in 2004. She enjoyed her cat and was a resident of Newton for most of her life.

Survivors include her mother, Aldean Carter of Cedar Rapids; a son, Jon Lake of Iowa; a stepson, Randy Griffin of Kellogg; two step-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Caren Jarnagin of Minneapolis, Minn.; and a niece and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband and stepfather, Milton Carter.
