Jack, the son of Clifford and Gladys (Cook) Lake, died Feb. 18, 2003. Linda Kay Lake, daughter of Robert T. and Aldean (Worth) Jarnagin-Carter, died Feb. 2, 2005.

A time of fellowship with the family will be held Tuesday with a lunch at noon at Country Kitchen in Newton. The family will greet friends until 3 p.m. A private family burial will be held at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Pence-Reese Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

On Nov. 16, 1963, Jack L. Lake married Linda Kay Jarnagin in Cedar Rapids. They moved to the Newton area in 1978. Linda was employed in food service at Park Centre and retired in 2004. Jack was employed by the Newton Daily News and retired from the pressroom.

Survivors include a son, Jon Lake of Iowa; stepson and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lori Griffin of Kellogg; three grandchildren; her mother, Aldean Carter of Cedar Rapids; her brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Caren Jarnagin of Eagan, Minn.; a niece and nephew; and many friends.

They were preceded in death by their fathers, Jack's mother and Linda's stepfather, Milton Carter.
