MAXWELL -- Edith "Polly" Jay, 89, of Park Centre died Jan. 13, 2005.
A private service was held Sunday. Her body was cremated. Burial will be held at Maxwell Cemetery at a later date.

The daughter of Alice and Clarence Cummings, she was born Sept. 11, 1915. She attended school in Collins. On Jan. 10, 1938, she married Lyle Jay in Missouri. She was a beautician for 30 years and attended the Christian Church in Maxwell.

Survivors include her husband of Mingo; a son, Jack Jay of Mingo; two daughters, Susanne and Gordon Fales of Mingo and Julie and Robert Johnson of Huxley; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Minnie Cummings of Maxwell; a nephew; and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
