Margaret R. Hindman, 83, of Newton died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Newton with the Rev. Tiare Mathison-Bowie officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, where the family will meet with friends. Memorials will be accepted to First Presbyterian Church or to the donor's choice.

The daughter of Shirley and Eva (Robbins) Kimmel, she was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Unionville, Mo. She lived in Newton most of her life and was a 1940 graduate of Newton Senior High School. On Oct. 4, 1946, she married Jack M. Hindman in the First Presbyterian Church in Newton. She worked for Maytag for 10 years and for Thomas & Allen CPA Firm for many years.

Mrs. Hindman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Newton Lady Elks, Order of Eastern Star, Rainbow Mother, Golden K Kiwanis, Jasper County Historical Society and Skiff Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing bridge and dancing.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Bruce) Chesshire of Wauwautosa, Wis., and Sally (Rick) Fletcher of Newton; four grandchildren; and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Maxine Manning; and a brother, Woody Kimmel.
