COLFAX — Mary Margaret "Maggie" Elliott, 81, of Colfax died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Colfax.

Visitation will be held at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax on Friday from 2 until 8 p.m. The family will be present to greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Colfax Senior Citizen's Center or to Taylor Hospice House.

The daughter of Dave Roy and Janet (Paynter) Williams, she was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Colfax. She graduated from Colfax High School and in 1947, she married Carl E. Elliott at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She enjoyed her involvement in her church, The Order of Eastern Star, Campfire Girls, the American Legion and the Colfax Senior Citizen's Center.

Mrs. Elliott is survived by her three children, Janet L. Brown of Des Moines, Martha A. Trier of Colfax and David A. (Jenny) Elliott of Colfax; her brother, John Bill Williams of Chandler, Ariz.; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, two sisters and one step-grandchild.
