Virginia Ruth Dunsbergen, 71, of 210 E. 28th St. in Newton died Saturday, May 21, 2005, in the Monarch Wing of Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. David Smalley of First Baptist Church in Newton officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted in her name.

The daughter of Roy E. McKinney and Sadie V. Kephart, she was born March 2, 1934, in Newton. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1952. On Jan. 2, 1970, she married Dale LeRoy Dunsbergen in State Center. She worked for the Maytag Company, Maytag Dairy Farm and for eight years in the State of Iowa Controllers Office. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Bowling Association and Redman Lodge. She enjoyed bowling.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Lee (Kari) Warmick of Newton and Dennis Roy (LeeAnna) Warmick of Booneville; a daughter, Diana Lynn (Jack) Strickland of Marshalltown; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
