STRASBURG, N.D. — Harold Dykema, 75, of Strasburg, N.D., formerly of Jasper County, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, at MedCenter One in Bismark, N.D.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Hull Christian Reformed Church in Hull, N.D. Burial will be at Hull Cemetery. Myers Funeral Home in Linton, N.D., is handling arrangements.

A prayer service will be held today at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

The son of Herman and Jennie (Moreman) Dykema, he was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Strasburg, N.D. He attended school in the Strasburg area. He farmed with his brother until entering the service in 1951. He was discharged in 1953 and again farmed. On June 15, 1955, he married Margery Ruth DeVries in Mitchellville. They continued to farm until the fall of 1956, when they moved to Iowa. He worked for a dairy farmer, the Colfax grain elevator and in 1957, started working at the Winpower Mfg. Co., where he remained until 1969, when he moved his family back to North Dakota to take over the farm homesteaded by his grandfather. He enjoyed farming and was a member of the Hull Christian Reformed church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Arlan Gene and Darcie Jo of Bismarck, N.D., Gary Dean and Berdene Fae of Strasburg, N.D.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Sadie Dykema of Strasburg, N.D.; one sister-in-law, Helen Dykema of Everett, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alfred Dykema and Leonard Dykema; and one sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Peter J. Nieuwsma.
