Crystal M. Crady, 89, of Newton died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Careage of Newton.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Her body has been cremated. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

The family will greet friends immediately following the burial with a coffee time in the social room at the funeral home. Memorials will be accepted to Careage of Newton and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of George and Jennie (Richmond) Manley, she was born April 20, 1916, in Melrose. She attended school in Lovilla. On June 24, 1938, she married Carl E. Crady in Marshalltown. She was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Post 1655 Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and Yahtzee with her grandchildren and she also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She was a resident of Newton since 1938.

Survivors include five sons, Larry (Karen) Crady of Oakland Acres, Jerry (Shirley) Crady of Newton, Ronnie (Caroline) Crady of Kellogg, Terry (Diane) Crady of Monroe and Donald (Wendy) Crady of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Kay (Gary) Stewart of Iowa City and Betty (Ray) Crabtree of Hermitage, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband an infant daughter, Karla Marie Crady; and three brothers.
